Patricia Ivey
Licensed Esthetician

Hello, I'm Patricia and I am a European trained licensed Esthetician. I graduated from the first German government approved esthetician school in 1981 at Wiesbaden, Germany.

I knew that I wanted to be an esthetician since I was sixteen after I picked my mother up at the local spa.

Before I started esthetician school, I worked at a hospital for one year to do an internship for physical therapy and medical massage.  I knew then for certain that I enjoy pampering people especially with skincare, massage and facials with effective results!

Since my husband was in the military, I worked at resorts and spas in Germany, Wyoming, Louisiana and in 1994-1997 here in Albuquerque.  I always enjoyed to have a wonderful relationship with my clientele and it was always difficult for me to leave.   Now that my husband has retired from the military, we decided to move back to Albuquerque to stay for good!

During my 28 years of experience, I acquired a lot of new skincare methods.  My European massage technique and touch is something I always have been complimented on.

If you in need to unwind and relax with one of our professional facial treatments, I'll be very happy to pamper you!

My cell phone is 505-504-2597.  Call to schedule a free consultation & skin analysis, so that we can customize your individualized skin care treatments.  I look forward to meeting you!

Paul May
Myofascial Therapist, Massage Therapist

Hello! I am Paul May, a licensed massage and Myofascial therapist.  In 2003, I graduated from the Crystal Mountain School of Therapeutic Massage located in Albuquerque, New Mexico. I have spent several years as a chiropractic assistant as well as a personal massage therapist.

I believe that our bodies are trying to tell us where the problem areas are, and I incorporate a deeper listening to the language and mechanics of the body, to bring relief to tense problem areas throughout the body.
My one-on-one therapy sessions are hands-on treatments during which I use a multitude of Myofascial Release techniques and movement therapy as well as other modalities such as Swedish and Deep Tissue. This highly specialized combination helps promote proper body mechanics and movement, through the enhancement of strength and flexibility.
Trauma, such as a fall, or whiplash from an automobile accident cause changes in the body, and can greatly influence the functioning of our body, producing intense pain or restriction of motion, which can also affect our flexibility and stability, and are a key factor in our ability to withstand stress and strain. As a Myofasical therapist, I treat this injured soft tissue using Myofascial Release and Neuromuscular Therapy techniques to help alleviate pain and restore a greater range of motion.

I believe that knowledge truly is power, and it is important that you know yourself, literally.  I will share my observations, ask questions, and assign simple stretches and exercises to help you maintain what WE gain—a stronger, more flexible, and pain free YOU!

Call at 505-385-8742 to schedule your appointment.

Carolyn Genet Martin, BA, LMT, CMTPT, NKT3, National Board Certified,  AMTA member

"Body awareness is essential for the ongoing evolution of self care"

Prior health issues during college opened the door to my interest in learning to heal the body.  Teaching skiing 1991-2011 in Taos, NM added the movement and athletic/ kinesthetic awareness.

Graduated from the Scherer Institute (currently the Santa Fe School of Massage) up in Taos, NM in 1996, have been in practice ever since.  Maintained national certification my entire career (NCBTMB) and recently obtained National Board Certification.

I have collaborated continuously over the years with chiropractors, other body workers, and doctors of Oriental Medicine in both Taos and Albuquerque to help create a supportive environment for optimal healing.  I am passionate about helping my patients manage their pain, and teach folks what I have learned.

I tend to use multiple modalities during treatment; NKT is a terrific assessment tool, which helps pinpoint and localize pain and dysfunction.

Myofascial trigger point with muscular movement can then be utilized to free up muscle and fascia, including scars.

Aromatherapy adds another dimension to the healing process.  I enjoy using therapeutic grade essential oils, as well as several of the Ayurvedic products from Banyan Botanicals locally made here in Albuquerque, just to name a few.

Homework is a great way for the patient to continue their journey after treatment sessions.  I am always happy to recommend it, as well as referral to other alternative practitioners if deemed necessary.  There is a great community of health care professionals in the area.

I love to read, learn, study, and find the latest science and techniques to add to treatment protocol.

-2011 became a nationally certified Myofascial trigger point therapist (CMTPT)

-2011 completed a 40 hour internship with David Lang, head of manual therapies, at the UNM Center For Life, a Complimentary Alternative Medical center.

-In 2015, I began studying NKT, and am now Level 3 Certified

-have taken several classes with Upledger Institute in both Manual Lymphatic Drainage and Cranial Sacral Therapy.

Please call or text for an appointment.  I work most Saturdays (575)770-1907

Daphne Barrett
Certified Myofascial Trigger Point Therapist & Licensed Massage Therapist

As an athlete and a practitioner, I am fascinated by the human body, how we heal, move, and change in response to the environment around us. We are truly amazing and adaptable creatures!

My journey on the path of health and wellness began when I went to massage school in 1998 at Crystal Mountain School of Therapeutic Massage here in Albuquerque. In 2005 I completed a Bachelor’s of University Studies at UNM majoring in Exercise Science and Biology, which gave me the unique experience of working in the cadaver lab at the UNM Health Sciences Center, which strengthened my understanding of the structures of the body and how they move.

My introduction to Myofascial Trigger Point Therapy was a personal one as following two back to back abdominal surgeries in 2009 I had become a chronic pain patient. Allopathic medicine sent me to a pain management doctor who prescribed opiates for pain relief. The thing was the pills didn’t really solve the problem of the pain, they only masked it for a few hours. Having been a competitive runner and skier, and all around active person, I found myself unable to participate in the active life I used to lead and I was miserable.

However, through my background in Massage Therapy I had heard about Myofascial Therapy and its amazing results with chronic pain patients and I knew there was a way out of this cycle of pills and pain. I searched the web and found a local practitioner and became a patient. I had such amazing results from the treatments that 2 years later I became a practitioner myself and completed training as a Certified Myofascial Trigger Point Therapist.

Now I enjoy helping others learn more about their patterns that contribute to pain and overcome pain. One of the most exciting aspects of working in this field is you can never get bored because there is always new research, new tools to acquire and new modalities to master. I like to incorporate several modalities into my treatments, in order to get the best results for my clients.

In the Fall of 2017 I completed Level 1 of Neurokinetic Therapy which uses muscle testing as a diagnostic tool. I am currently enrolled in an Orofacial Myology program and am looking forward to expanding my knowledge and tools to better serve my clients.

It’s never too late to start your wellness journey. See what Myofascial Therapy can do to treat your pain and make an appointment today!  Contact me on my cell phone at 505-847-5174 to schedule an appointment!
